Referral Procedures

All grade 2 and grade 5 students will be screened for highly capable services. No parent referral is necessary and your student will be screened unless you choose to opt-out of the process. Learn more at the Universal Screening page.

The 2023-24 highly capable referral window for grades K, 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 was from November 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023. Referrals submitted after December 31, 2023 may not be considered for evaluation until the 2024-2025 school year for services beginning in 2025-2026.

 The referral window for the 2024-25 school year is now closed.

Students New to Tahoma School District

Students moving into the Tahoma School District after the referral window closes or over the summer are still able to submit a move-in referral form. Students must registered with the district before a referral form can be accepted. Please contact your new school's registrar to begin the registration process and submit the following form when that is complete: Move-In Referral Form
