What is SEBB?

The School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) program administers health insurance and other benefits for employees of Washington’s school districts, charter schools, or to union-represented employees of education service districts. The State of Washington’s Health Care Authority (HCA) is the agency that manages SEBB, Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB), PEBB retiree benefits and SEBB Continuation Coverage (COBRA).


What are my 2021 SEBB benefits?

  • Medical Insurance (You pay a portion of the total premium and you can opt to waive medical).
    • We have medical plans offered through Kaiser Permanente, Premera administered by Heritage, and Uniform Medical Plans (UMP) administered by Regence BlueShield.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) for those who enroll in UMP High Deductible plan (administered by Regence BlueShield)

  • Dental Insurance-Mandatory Insurance at no cost to the employee/dependents.
    • Uniform Dental Plan (administered by Delta Dental of Washington). This is a PPO plan.
    • DeltaCare (administered by Delta Dental of Washington). This is a managed care plan.
    • Willamette - This is a managed care plan.

  • Vision Insurance-Mandatory Insurance at no cost to the employee/dependents.
    • *All plans pay for annual eye exam. You can choose to use the benefit for glasses (frames/lenses) or contacts. The benefit will pay every other year-not annually.

    • Davis Vision
    • MetLife Vision

  • Basic Life Insurance ($35,000)-Every SEBB eligible employee automatically receives this benefit through MetLife at no cost to the employee. Please be sure to update your beneficiaries!

  • Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance ($5,000)-Every SEBB eligible employee automatically receives this benefit through MetLife at no cost to the employee. Please be sure to update your beneficiaries!

  • Basic Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance- Every SEBB eligible employee automatically receives this benefit through The Standard for $100-$400 monthly LTD benefit if eligible at no cost to the employee.

  • SmartHealth-Voluntary Wellness Program through Limeade

  • Supplemental Life Insurance offered through MetLife

  • Supplemental AD&D Insurance offered through MetLife

  • Supplemental LTD Insurance offered through The Standard (if eligible)

  • Medical Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA) offered through Navia

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) offered through Navia
